Tom and I spent our first weekend alone since Jack was born. Our good friends Katie and Brian joined the married ranks, and we were lucky enough to attend their wedding in Appleton. It was so much fun getting to catch up with all of our friends and showing off pictures of Jack. We missed him a TON, but knew he was in excellent hands since Grandpa Tim and Grandma Jane were able to come and take care of him. I'm not sure who had more fun....the grandparents or Jack?!!? Thanks so much for taking excellent care of our little guy!!!!
Jack was sad to see Grandma Jane and Grandpa Tim return to Eau Claire, yet he sure was happy to see Mom and Dad!
Jack got his new Bumbo, which Tom calls the Bimbo. He now asks Jack if he would like to go sit on the "Bimbo"....I sure hope this vowel mix-up doesn't stick!
Tom purchased a Zoo Pass to the Milwaukee County Zoo for us for Christmas this year. It was so nice on Tuesday that Jack and I had our first outing to the zoo. I guess he wasn't very concerned about the lions right behind him.....in fact he really didn't care about any of the animals as he slept the WHOLE time we were there! I'm sure the other people at the zoo thought I was crazy, pushing around this stroller with a sleeping baby and talking to him while he slept!
We saw the "real" Gerry the Giraffe at the zoo.
Look we even found Tom at the zoo....and he has been telling us he is at work every day!
Spit-up is known as "spittle" at our house. We have "spittle rags" and "spittle bibs". Here is a great shot of what Jack is capable of doing to your outfit. This is why I wear old grubby sweatshirts now!

A friend just made a comment to me about how she thought the reactions adults have towards babies can be so funny, especially when the reaction causes them to get down and crawl around on the floor. Needless to say I about peed myself when I walked into the living room to find Tom, Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Tom all on the floor surrounding Jack. This gives new meaning to "bottoms up!"
Grandma Nancy brought down her sewing machine to make some curtains for Jack's room. She is such a domestic goddess!!! Martha would be proud!!!!!
Jack helps Dad plan their next move in dominoes.

Week Ten
Our good friends Steven and Ellen coaxed us out of the house during the FREEZING cold for a wonderful dinner. We had a great time visiting with them, and Jack impressed them with his tooting abilities. I don't think I have ever been more proud! (He certainly gets that trait from his father, not his mother!!)
Jack enjoyed watching the Super Bowl on Sunday, even if the Packers didn't take part in it....there's always next year!
Nothing is more fun than "tummy time" under the baby gym!
Who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters....no Jack would much rather call Grandma!
Waiting for some friends to come and play....
Sound asleep on the couch with Dad after a stressful day of napping and "tummy time."

Week Nine
While Tom was away at Tesch's Bachelor Party, Jack and I decided to go visit Sommer and Matt. Nala (their dog) took a licking I mean liking to Jack as you can see!
We're off to Target for more diapers!
What a kodak moment!
Jack moved into his very own room last week. Although his room isn't completely finished we decided it was time for us all to be back in our own beds. We had all been sleeping in the spare bedroom since we came home from the hospital. Jack in the cradle and Tom and I in the uncomfortable bed. Needless to say we will be getting a new bed for the spare bedroom soon! I feel so bad that we made guests sleep in that bed!
I had a hard time with Jack moving into to his own room. I wanted to sleep on the floor the first night he was in there, but Tom wouldn't let me. As you can see Jack didn't have any problems sleeping in the new crib, and I mangaged to catch a few winks in my own bed. I probably snuck into his room 7 times that first night, to check on him...man being a mom sure comes with a lot of worrying!

Week Eight
Jack models the hat that Grandma Jane and Grandpa Tim brought him back from their trip to Alaska. Can you believe he actually wears this in public?
A full belly sure makes a little guy happy!
This is the only way we can get his diaper changed...if we tie up his arms! Just kidding...it looks worse than it really is!
Jack is ready to go for a walk in his new stroller, now that he is all bundled up. Doesn't he look like Cookie Monster in this snowsuit?
Gerry the Giraffe takes time out and comes down from the Dirty Diaper Lounge to spend some time with Jack in his swing.

Jack shows off his bum in one of the adorable outfits the Engels gave him. It is a good thing that we don't live closer to the Engels, otherwise Lori and I would be shopping ALL the time, just like we used to when we were younger.
Jack gives Grandma Nancy a smile before nodding off into dreamland. Looks like a pretty comfortable spot to be...resting in Grandma's arms!
We returned home to Milwaukee after being in Eau Claire for Christmas, and decided that we better get a quick shot of Jack's toes while they are still small. Unfortunately Jack takes after me and has long feet and toes, maybe someday I can teach him how to pick up a tennis racket with his toes too!

Christmas (Week Five)
This is a display of Tom's photography skills, as you can see we are all paying attention to him!
Now he got our attention! Jack got to meet his Auntie Anne this week, and we had a hard time getting him away from her. She fell in love with him instantly...he already has that effect on women! (Tom thinks he gets that trait from him...we'll just let him keep thinking that so we don't hurt his feelings!
This week was a busy one. We continued to celebrate Christmas and Grandpa Tom's retirement from the Fire Department.
Jack meets his cousin Dylan at the Borchardt Family Christmas.
After she was done entertaining us cousin Emily took time out to hold Jack.
Jack had a long day meeting all of the Borchardts and found cousin Alex's arms a great place to unwind.
Jack meets the Engels! Here he is with cousin Adam and Lori, while cousins Teegan and Tyler were in the basement helping Grandpa Tim with his TV.
This photo almost beats the "Mad Russian". We call it Smart Jack. Don't laugh too hard!!!!!

Christmas (Week Four)
My Christmas boys! Tom and I received our Christmas gift a month early. We feel so blessed to have such a wonderful, happy, and healthy little guy!
Grandpa Tom felt the need to dress up as one of the reindeer since he wasn't able to catch the 30-pointer this year. I guess if he can become one with nature he will stand a chance a catching it next year!
Jack is being held by his Great Great Uncle Tom Cunningham. Yes, this is where Jack's middle name "Cunningham" comes from. I find this picture to be so neat as you look at the generations!
Here Jack is with Uncle Marc, and Lindsay (Uncle Marc's girlfriend who we love!)

Week Four
Grandpa Tim gets to spend the weekend with Jack, as he came for a visit before taking Grandma Jane back to Eau Claire. We were so sad to see them leave, thank goodness Tom came home from Spain and Italy later that day!
No more sponge baths! Jack's cord FINALLT fell off! He LOVED his first bath, which is good since we spend alot of time around water with all of our camping and sailing.
The first bath is all "wrapped" up.
Jack seems to be saying, "Please no more pictures!"
